Abstract
There is a general paucity of research concerning the sexual health and sexual practices of transgender individuals. High-quality epidemiological data of TG people are needed to better assess the sexual health needs of TGs. This information could be instrumental to design targets for intensive HIV prevention strategies in this particular high risk population. In this study we have made an attempt to unravel sexual pattern, practices and STI in transgender population in Thoothukudi district, Tamilnadu, India. Various diverse partnering and sexual practices have been identified in our study. The prevalence of STI is less in the educated and health aware TG population of this geographic area in contrast to other studies
